I finished this sweet custom order for a rasta fringe bikini top and I've also been working on some little extras for the shop. I guess every one's getting ready for summer by showing off their One Love pride!

ninety through ninety-nine

I've been doing nothing but filling orders for the past ten days. Most of my orders are for the same fringe bikini top in various colors and sizes. Because of that I haven't bothered to document everything and instead I've been putting most of my energy into my shop. There are a lot of time consuming aspects of running it even though Etsy makes it pretty easy there's still effort in packaging, shipping, marketing, advertising, keeping everything up to date, communicating with customers, making improvements and of course, creating the products to meet my buyers expectations. Oh, and my computer has been damaged and the tracking pad isn't working properly which has been making blogging and other computer work pretty difficult. But there's always time to crochet!

I know my posts are usually clumped together and not as frequent as they were in the beginning. I thought that maybe I could really make something new, that I've never made before, every single day but now I realize how impractical that sounds considering some of my projects take a few days to complete and I still have a shop to run. I'm not going anywhere though I might be terrible at documenting and I'm definitely not going to stop making awesome stuff. If I don't blog for a while, don't think that I've quit, I'll just be working and crocheting in the background.

Today I made a couple of bikini tops which will be going out to new homes tomorrow morning. I've been super busy with shop orders, spring cleaning and a few other projects and responsibilities, so I'm definitely taking advantage of any little chance that I get to sit back and crochet.

Today I made: a new bikini top. I thought I'd change things up since I always make them in solid colors, and I just happen to love these two colors together. There was a debate about whether I should put fringe on it or not, but I've decided that if I do put this top up for sale I'll just give my customers the option to have it made with fringe, there now everyone is happy!

Today I made: well almost made a new bikini top. I didn't quite finish it, but hey I've been pretty busy filling orders so maybe it doesn't need to be finished just yet.

Today I made: a SUPER pink bikini top. I really do feel like I accomplished a lot this past week by more than doubling my inventory of bikini tops. I think I've made enough tops for now so I'm definitely going to think up some new projects tomorrow. After all, it is cloudy, windy and cold so maybe I should get back into the spirit of winter before it's gone again.

Today I made: yet another top. I really don't think I'll ever get bored of making these. I've been trying to come up with things that are not bikini top related but instead I just end up making a different style or a different color every day. 

In other news, I sent out some Valentines orders today. I think it's sweet when guys buy jewelry for their ladies. Maybe I should get my jewelry box and pliers back out to take a break from my bikini top obsession, hmm?

Today I made: a basic bikini top with a natural, undyed, cotton yarn. I really don't know why I haven't made one of these before or why I didn't start off with a plain and more natural variety of tops. But now I finally have it. This color is the only one that is undyed, however, and is otherwise referred to as "ecru."

Today I made: little crocheted hearts <3 I'm going to use them to make the color options for my bikini tops easier to choose from and I think it's a pretty cute idea. I haven't applied them to my shop yet but I will very soon. Each heart takes approximately five minutes to make, so it's a super easy craft for anyone who crochets. Aaaand, I just got a few brand new colors for spring so I will be making more of these.

Today I made: a replica of my most popular top but in my favorite color, coral! I know I've made this top a million times but I always love seeing it in new colors, and with this one my shop is finally starting to get a pretty color scheme. Annnnd it's already up for sale. I'm hopeful that something to be proud of will come out of all this, and as of day fifteen I think this project is already making improvements on my creativity, my integrity and my overall attitude towards life.

dream a dream

sleepless night til early morning, dream a dream. imagine, restless, all the things, that come to be, a part of me. slow down, silence, rest in peace. dream a dream, sleep now for me. 

I've been up all night so far looking through archives and albums of photos. I find peoples lives so interesting seeing what they see through through their lenses. Photography is such a beautiful art to me, I love learning more and more about it. I am definitely an amateur, never took a photo class but I know how to read a manual at least. I don't mind being an amateur either, experimenting with something is the best way to learn more about it.

I'm thinking about a perfectly happy life, the one I'll have when I've settled into my artistic style. I'm very unorganized right now it seems, and though I can run my shop well I haven't quite figured out what it is that I'm going to continue to sell and how it's all going to appear to the public. And though photography is just a hobby, a way for me to document my life, I would really like to learn more about it and maybe possibly make a job out of it. For now I'm just having fun with everything and trying not to stress out. I imagine a life full of good, healthy food, organized workplaces, lots of books, time to study on my own, and varieties of hot teas. :)

happy weekend

We can all thank my friend, Torrie, for the above picture. Thanks Torrie <3. In case you didn't know, Torrie is a very talented young woman with an already excellent collection of artwork and you can discover her here: torrieanneart. I had a great weekend with this lady down in the LBC and even got a chance to explore around town to take some pictures. This weekend has been a nice break, but I'm excited to get back to work on some of my projects as soon as the sun comes up tomorrow.

I was, however, a little bummed to find out today that my free Flickr account has run it's course and I'll have to upgrade to a Pro account to continue to share all of the photos that I'd like to share. You got me there, Flickr. Until I upgrade only some of my photos will be viewable, so I'll be holding off on adding too much to my album. It may seem like a silly concern but I am definitely looking forward to the day when I can afford to upgrade my account. I would love to continue creating albums where people can look at my photos without having to read all of my ramblings or scroll through my piles of webpages. Buy me a Pro Account?  Maybe? Heey there! So, I had to make a new blog with a new url because my old one was broken and wouldn't allow followers. However, I imported all the blog posts from my old blog so it's like nothing ever changed! I am now www.noelebelle.blogspot.com and I can now have followers, so follow me!

As far as the business goes, it's pretty slow since summer's ending and I mostly only have bikini tops, but I recently did a giveaway through A Little Etsy Love, which is always featuring giveaways and the best stuff on Etsy! I've started working on new additions to my shop for summer. There will be lots of fringe, varieties of colors and plenty of beachwear. All items will be for sale on my shop and made to order to your size and specifications. This is just the beginning:

As far as the personal stuff goes, I'm going to be making a lot of positive changes in my life which will hopefully affect my products positively as well. I'm really getting into holistic health including yoga, use of herbs and natural substances for bodily care, healthy eating and meditation. Already, this lifestyle is incredibly addicting and I plan to continue with the good habits. I will be keeping this blog undated on all of the healthy goings on in my life. Keep in touch.
