make something day fifty-four
Today I finished my mask from day fifty! I put a second layer of paper-mâché on and after that was completely dry, I brushed on a couple coats of white paint. Making the flower halo was the fun part, and it just took a bunch of fake flowers and some hot glue. It might still need a couple of finishing touches, and I think Brittany is going to be adding onto her alien mask as well.

make something day forty-three
Today I made: boot cuffs! Now this is something new and different from my usual creations and I think I did pretty well for my first try. They're made with 100% pure new wool in a pretty cream color. I want to sew bows onto the back of them just like the fingerless gloves, but I don't know if I should make them in the same color or in a different color. Any suggestions?

make something day eleven
Today a made: a set of nature inspired granny squares. I took this photo of some of my beautiful flowers a couple days ago, and I've actually never made a granny square before today so I figured I'd try it out. Now, I can fall back on making more of these "little flowers" and maybe by the end of the year I'll have enough to sew 'em up into a blanket, my own cozy garden. :)

make something day seven
Today I made: the third scarf in this set. The other two were already completed but my plan was to make a bunch of them for my shop so I decided to crank out another one. I intended to tie dye them in solid colors once I had a good amount of these done but I'm not sure how popular they'll be so maybe I'll just start with a few and see how it works out?
In other news, today I started out with a troubled mind and bad thoughts but these days all I have to do is think positively if I want to change my mood. Though sometimes it's difficult to be happy or even content, I just need to count my blessings and realize that the bad thoughts are just a waste of the time that I could be using to make improvements on my life. Also, I promise to get my camera back out soon but for now I'm just using these instagram pics so I can make my posts quickly and get one in every day to keep updated on my msed365 project.

make something every day
Happy New Year! It is my goal for 2013 to Make Something Every Day. To be creative and make art a part of my daily life. I vow also to get out and smell the flowers every day, enjoy the fresh air and keep my mind at ease. I can't guarantee that all of my creations will be blog worthy but I will try my best to document each days new idea.
Today I made: A couple new things for the shop. Already this is helping with business! After uploading a handful of new items to my shop, I got out my red yarn and made a red version of this bow and a cranberry red version of this scarf. No pictures yet but I'll have these colors added to my shop before the week is over. In other news, the rain has been treating my garden well and the flowers are blooming beautifully. <3
So, the challenge has started,
and day one has been completed.

friday
There's an apple pie fresh out of the oven, I can smell it. It's a good night already. My idea of a perfect Friday is just this, a quiet night, dessert and a glass of red wine. I've been stuck for these past two days updating my shop and working on new listings, I feel like I'm developing couch sores from all this sitting around, staring at my computer screen. But, it had to be done and now I can enjoy my weekend and come Monday I'll have a clean slate to start on some new items, and then the cycle continues. I feel like I'm finally getting better at running my shop so hopefully my positive attitude towards business will reflect in my work. I basically just started around January of last year so I'm now starting on my second year. I learned so much in one year, now it's time to take everything I know and put twice as much effort into making my dreams come true. I know I have the talent, all I need now is my own studio so I can continue to spend my days filling orders and making products that people love. <3 Is that selfish or is it possible for life to be so great?

Just bought myself a Flickr Pro account, woooohooooo! I'm really, very excited because now I have a reason to make my photos and my photo albums presentable since I have money riding on it. No, money doesn't really mean all that much to me, but I'm not going to let the three months of photostreaming advantages that I paid for go to waste!

the blank page
I'll keep searching and I'll keep dreaming
I'll keep loving and I'll keep leaving
I'll fly high and I'll swing low
I'll live fast but I'll take things slow.
I just want a world of my own.
Hello, Autumn.
I'm glad you're finally here.
Summer made me miss you even more.
Because there is always room for improvement,
l. Keep everything clean & organized
ll. Take more pictures
lll. Make things that I am proud of
lV. Keep an open mind
V. Live by my schedule
I'm ready for the harvest
Oh, luminous moon,
black nights alone
it's for you that I swoon.
Bold, aglow
it's all too soon
I'm shot back down
to wait again, 'til high noon.

meow mow

I'm going to be busy this weekend and probably won't have time to make any new posts. However, I do have some new pictures on my flickr including these ones of my pretty kitty, Pele. I'm semi-happy with the way the photos I've uploaded have come out, but still finding room for improvement. So yeah, there's a little preview of some of my recent photo taking fun. I'm studying more about editing and photography, so I hope to have some better pictures soon.

dream a dream
sleepless night til early morning, dream a dream. imagine, restless, all the things, that come to be, a part of me. slow down, silence, rest in peace. dream a dream, sleep now for me.
I've been up all night so far looking through archives and albums of photos. I find peoples lives so interesting seeing what they see through through their lenses. Photography is such a beautiful art to me, I love learning more and more about it. I am definitely an amateur, never took a photo class but I know how to read a manual at least. I don't mind being an amateur either, experimenting with something is the best way to learn more about it.
I'm thinking about a perfectly happy life, the one I'll have when I've settled into my artistic style. I'm very unorganized right now it seems, and though I can run my shop well I haven't quite figured out what it is that I'm going to continue to sell and how it's all going to appear to the public. And though photography is just a hobby, a way for me to document my life, I would really like to learn more about it and maybe possibly make a job out of it. For now I'm just having fun with everything and trying not to stress out. I imagine a life full of good, healthy food, organized workplaces, lots of books, time to study on my own, and varieties of hot teas. :)

new url
Heey there! So, I had to make a new blog with a new url because my old one was broken and wouldn't allow followers. However, I imported all the blog posts from my old blog so it's like nothing ever changed! I am now www.noelebelle.blogspot.com and I can now have followers, so follow me!
As far as the business goes, it's pretty slow since summer's ending and I mostly only have bikini tops, but I recently did a giveaway through A Little Etsy Love, which is always featuring giveaways and the best stuff on Etsy! Now that that's all done I'll get to work on some new stuff for fall and winter to put up in my shop and get back on the market.

from the seeds planted
My mother has been slaving over this beautiful garden for weeks. Though she's had gopher problems, she has been persistent and it's beginning to show its fruitfulness. It's tough being completely organic sometimes, but I feel like it will pay off. (Though I should probably be helping with the garden if I'm going to claim that it will pay off, haha.) This is the second year in row of my mothers summer gardens, though there were plenty of fruit trees already blooming when we moved into our home - oranges (valencia and naval), grapefruits, lemons, apricots, pomegranates, apples, plums pineapple-guavas and blackberries. I can't express how grateful I am for our bounty of fruit and vegetables, and let me tell you, non-genetically modified foods do taste so much better. Here's just a small sample of what's blooming in our backyard right now.

places - getty
Whether you're traveling to Los Angeles or need a break from the busy city, the Getty is always a nice place to visit. The architecture itself is one of the most beautiful exhibits. Also, it's free! You just have to pay for parking if you show up in a car.
I've been looking for more fun and adventurous things to do in my area and the areas around me, and though LA isn't the closest of cities to me, there are tons of things to do there and plenty of museums which are always fun and easy to find.
