make something day thirty-six

Today I made: yet another top. I really don't think I'll ever get bored of making these. I've been trying to come up with things that are not bikini top related but instead I just end up making a different style or a different color every day.

In other news, I sent out some Valentines orders today. I think it's sweet when guys buy jewelry for their ladies. Maybe I should get my jewelry box and pliers back out to take a break from my bikini top obsession, hmm?

make something day twenty-eight

Today I made: a simple cross necklace. I now have a full set of cross jewelry including this bracelet and these earrings from days 19 and 25. I'll try to get these up on Etsy soon now that I have all three finished.

make something day twenty-five

Today I made: some simple earrings. Projects like these are perfect for busy days. They definitely didn't require much creativity but that doesn't mean that they don't make for a good pair of earrings. Plus, knowing how to put together an easy piece of jewelry can always help spark some ideas.

make something days nineteen&twenty

This weekend I made: two new hand chains. One on Saturday and one on Sunday. They're both exactly the same except for the beads used. There are so many possibilities with these bracelets. Now that I've come up with a good, well-fitting design for these I'm ready to put some up for sale.
I love how this project keeps giving me new stuff for my shop that normally would have taken me weeks to come up with. For all the other creative people out there, I can say that making something every day really helps and it relieves the stress of falling into a creative rut. Even if you don't come up with something amazing today, you can put it aside and try something new tomorrow with a better know-how and a more productive, inspired mind.

make something day sixteen

Today I made: this turquoise heart necklace. Well, actually I made two of them and each one has a little wooden bead placed inside of it. They're already up for sale in my shop at a valentines-y price of $14, not bad for handmade jewelry!

make something days twelve&thirteen

This weekend I made: two new "slave bracelets," hand chains, ring bracelets or whatever you want to call them. One for each day, I made the moon one on Saturday and then went a little feather crazy on Sunday. I'm willing to sell the feather one if anyone wants it and though I'm keeping the moon chain for myself, I can make a few more to put up in my shop! Any takers?

make something day eight

Today I made: a little crochet heart necklace. So cute and so easy to make, I had to give it a try. Maybe I'll sell a few for Valentines day this year. <3

make something days five&six

This weekend I made: a little bow keychain and another bracelet using an old moon bead. I know they're just little things, and were pretty simple to make but it is the weekend and it was a busy one. I gave the keychain to one of my friends, so heey I'm a pretty good friend to have, hang around me and you might get some free stuff. ;)

In other news, I had a great first week of the new year. How was yours?

make something day three

Today I made: a new turquoise necklace. It didn't take too long and I have a ton of jewelry making supplies and materials laying around. Over the years I've developed a real knack at making jewelry but it's not something that I do often and it doesn't sell very well in my shop. Maybe one day I'll be able to use all of little jewelry boxes that I have and send some pretty pieces off to new homes and new customers, but for now I can just enjoy it as a hobby and widen my personal jewelry collection.

In other news, the sweater that I'm wearing in the first photo is hand knitted and straight out of my grandmothers closet. It's flawlessly made and I probably wear it way too much. I'm always surrounded by art and handmade items, my life is just a mess of creativity.

it's raining

Etsy favorites! I have a couple of new Etsy favorites that I thought went well together including some skull jewelry from UNKNOWN SOUL and a cute little tunic that bought from Karmologyclinic. I got my shirt on a sample sale so it was only $16, and I love it, it's the perfect length and color. I love taking pictures of all the nice things that I own, I feel like it gives them more of a purpose and a place in my life. Sharing my collections of things makes me so much happier than just wearing them or letting them sit around the house.

I've been thinking a lot about fashion blogging since I already seem to document the rest of my life and my projects. I've tried at it before but never really seem to like the pictures I come out with even though I have some of the greatest outfits. I definitely don't fit in with the rich girl fashion bloggers and all of their expensive clothes and beautiful model faces. I'm more of a discount shopper with an outdoorsy lifestyle, so I love great thrift store finds that can look fashionable and still be able to handle a nice walk in the woods. I have made a LookBook which I've posted a couple of outfits on buuuut that didn't go over so well with the LookBook audience and I seem to enjoy closeups of bits and pieces of my outfits more than the big picture. Maybe I'll get back around to it someday with some more confidence and some awesome photos. I feel like blogging on top of working through Etsy could really benefit me if I can get a large enough following, and I know that if I work hard enough at it I can make my dreams come true.

thursday blues

Sitting outside, listening to music, relaxing and recapping my day. It's so peaceful outdoors at night and the sunset was lovely, but it looks like it's going to rain, oh my! It's been so hot lately I would love to run through some rainfall. I'm really happy with one of the necklaces that I made today as well as a pair of earrings that I finished, and I'm pleased to say that I'm still getting orders for bikini tops, glad to see you gals are still swimming and enjoying the end of your summer!

Well this is my second blog post tonight, and I only have one follower.. oh wait, that follower is me! So technically I've just been talking to myself, but it's okay because it's in the form of a blog and I'm saving money and paper by using this as my journal ;). I'll keep posting either way, you can't get rid of me just yet blogger!

Found this little guy today, hoping he still works!

beautiful skies

Working on tons of new jewelry, morning coffee, the great outdoors (of my backyard) and the beautiful sky. I'm loving sitting at home and working on new items for my shop, but my need for travel is pounding in the back of my head. I'd love to get out and see a foreign city or some of natures amazing phenomenons. But until I get the chance to go somewhere I've never been I'll be sitting on a chair in my backyard crocheting away happy as ever.

for september

Septembers almost here, and thankfully I've gotten a few new things up in my shop recently. I've also been working on more stuff that I haven't listed on Etsy yet. I have a bunch of supplies coming in the mail that I cannot wait to open up and start using. For those of you who love jewelry be expecting lots of chain, coral, turquoise and tribal beads and hopefully some warm crocheted hats, scarves and clothes too.

etsy favorites

Some of my favorite items that I've received through Etsy trades and purchases. I love all of them, and am honored to own and wear the unique jewelry and accessories that other artisans have created for me. I am also grateful that I've had the opportunity to communicate directly with these people and get a more personal experience with others who love to make things as much as I do.
