make something day seventy-eight

Today I made a bow ring, yes, a bow on a ring. I'm really excited to add these to my shop, but I don't want to over work myself by making a bunch of them all in one day, so I'm going to make a different color every day for the next six or seven days until I have a whole rainbow of bows! That will save me from having to think up different projects this week too because even though I'm capable of making something every day and I consider myself to be a creative person, sometimes it's hard to get inspired. But I always love working on new products and filling orders for my shop.

make something day seventy-four

Today I made a red bow tie pin. My friend, Torrie, made and designed the bow stamp so I can use it for my shop. I make them to order in a bunch of different colors and each one comes in an adorable little box.

make something day sixty-nine

Today I made a bow out of a brown hemp cord. I was wondering what to put in on when Torrie suggested that I attach it to the hook I used. Now it's perfect!

make something day sixty

Last night I sliced my finger open with razor blade on accident. So, today I made a bow for my bandage to cheer me up. It worked and looks like it's going to heal okay. This all happened because I was cutting up my own business cards using with an x-acto knife. Needless to say I did not finish the task. But hey, I can still crochet so this shouldn't affect me too much.

make something day fifty-three

Today I made: a bow that you can wear on your wrists! I used the same bow pattern that I use to make these necklaces. After making this bracelet I thought to myself, "what else can I put bows onto!?" and I've come to the conclusion that the possibilities are seemingly endless! Bow pins, bow keychains, bow earrings, bow ties, bow clips, bow shoe clips, bows, bows, bows...

make something day forty-four

Today I made: a big seafoam bow headband. It's the same pattern that I use to make the cream bow headband in my store, just in a different color. Thanks to my lovely model, Charisma, for trying the bow on for me and letting me take a picture. :)

In other news, I finally got some tags for my shop! I'm going to start putting them on my products so keep an eye out for "Noelebelle" <3

make something day thirty-nine

Today I made: a pair of fingerless gloves. These ones are wool unlike the acrylic ones I have for sale in my shop and to change things up a little bit I made them longer and attached a cute little bow to the top of each one. They're quality made like my other fingerless gloves but I think the bows make them look more classy and adorable, the wool is nice too and not itchy at all.

make something days five&six

This weekend I made: a little bow keychain and another bracelet using an old moon bead. I know they're just little things, and were pretty simple to make but it is the weekend and it was a busy one. I gave the keychain to one of my friends, so heey I'm a pretty good friend to have, hang around me and you might get some free stuff. ;)

In other news, I had a great first week of the new year. How was yours?

handmade holidays - tree trimming

My first post for this year in Handmade Holidays! I may have started my holiday gift-making a little late, but it's not over yet! I want to show you guys all of the crafty, christmas-y things that I'm able to come with. I'll be expanding my inventory with 'ready to ship' items for quick, holiday delivery and I'll also be sharing the gifts that I put together for my loved ones.

I'm not cheap and I love to spend my money on stuff for my friends and family but this year I'm trying to put a little more meaning behind my gifts while supporting small businesses and the art of crafts. Sorry Wal-Mart, but mom doesn't need a cheap pair of pj's this year. And I'm not saying that store bought gifts mean nothing, it's all about finding that special something for those special someones whether it's cheap, expensive, handmade or edible.

I simply intend to spark some creativity and spread some holiday cheer. Handmade Holidays is for those of you who love to craft and may be in need of some last minute gift ideas, and for those of you who are supporting us independent artisans this season by buying handmade gifts. So, for starters, I have some brand new Christmas tree ornaments up on Etsy:

simple additions

For as long as I've known how to crochet cute little bows, I never bothered to put any in my shop. But finally, I perfected the design, securing the bow and making sure that it fits snugly. I love making these so I hope to sell lots of them this winter. I also put a couple other things in my shop including a unisex infinity scarf and a pair of lovely moon earrings.
