make something day fifty-nine

Today I made: hearts.
I'll be sending them along with anything ordered from my shop until I run out. <3

& it's February 28th, two months down and ten more to go.

make something day fifty-eight

Today I made: a dreamcatcher that I actually like! It was a random dream catcher making party with my girls and this one turned out very nicely compared to my first two attempts. I spent all day working on it too and was excited to have an opportunity to use my new little metal feathers.

In other news, I have a tendency to make these blog posts days or even weeks late. It's just too much to make something, take a good picture, write about it AND fulfill all of my other responsibilities all in one day. However, I have successfully made something new every day so far, it's just the posts that are late. Plus, I've been getting massive amounts of spammy comments on a few of my posts and it's rather annoying. I'm trying though! And the goal is to have this to show with a photo of each new project at the end of the year.

make something day fifty-seven

Today I made: a new bikini top. I thought I'd change things up since I always make them in solid colors, and I just happen to love these two colors together. There was a debate about whether I should put fringe on it or not, but I've decided that if I do put this top up for sale I'll just give my customers the option to have it made with fringe, there now everyone is happy!

make something days fifty-five&fifty-six

Yesterday I made a brand new, coral colored bow and attached it to a pin that you can clip onto practically anything. Then today I made an aqua-blue one and put it on a key chain. I already went and clipped the keychain onto my scissors though that might not be very practical, but I guess bows are more cute than practical anyways. Remember how I said I wanted to put bows on everything? Well I did.

make something day fifty-four

Today I finished my mask from day fifty! I put a second layer of paper-mâché on and after that was completely dry, I brushed on a couple coats of white paint. Making the flower halo was the fun part, and it just took a bunch of fake flowers and some hot glue. It might still need a couple of finishing touches, and I think Brittany is going to be adding onto her alien mask as well.

make something day fifty-three

Today I made: a bow that you can wear on your wrists! I used the same bow pattern that I use to make these necklaces. After making this bracelet I thought to myself, "what else can I put bows onto!?" and I've come to the conclusion that the possibilities are seemingly endless! Bow pins, bow keychains, bow earrings, bow ties, bow clips, bow shoe clips, bows, bows, bows...

make something days fifty-one&fifty-two

Today I made a dreamcatcher. My friend, Charisma, made the ring using bamboo from my backyard and I filled it in with hemp cord. As for the bracelet, I just needed a new one since all of my old bracelets have fallen off.

make something day fifty

Today I made: the base of my mask. My mom threw a two day paper mache workshop party, so being the first day I only got one layer done using old newspaper scraps. You can't really tell by the picture, but it is a face. I'll have my finished product done on Saturday.

make something day forty-nine

Today I made: well almost made a new bikini top. I didn't quite finish it, but hey I've been pretty busy filling orders so maybe it doesn't need to be finished just yet.

make something day forty-six

Today I made: some bows for my boot cuffs. I didn't know what color to make them so first I asked my followers, and though most of them decided on using a different color I had to work with what I had available. I like the red one but I think the cream bows with red or grey in the middle will look the best.

make something day forty-five

Valentines Day !
Today I made: a bow-tie necklace. Too many bows? Maybe, but I think they're adorable nonetheless. I admit this little neckie was a bit uncreative for me because I do make so many bows but I thought it was a cute project for Valentines day and it just so happens to match the bow headband that I made yesterday.

make something day forty-four

Today I made: a big seafoam bow headband. It's the same pattern that I use to make the cream bow headband in my store, just in a different color. Thanks to my lovely model, Charisma, for trying the bow on for me and letting me take a picture. :)

In other news, I finally got some tags for my shop! I'm going to start putting them on my products so keep an eye out for "Noelebelle" <3

make something day forty-three

Today I made: boot cuffs! Now this is something new and different from my usual creations and I think I did pretty well for my first try. They're made with 100% pure new wool in a pretty cream color. I want to sew bows onto the back of them just like the fingerless gloves, but I don't know if I should make them in the same color or in a different color. Any suggestions?

make something day forty-two

Today I made: a bunch of mushroom lighter holders. I've been getting more orders for these than I expected so I made some brand new colors for my customers to choose from. (My favorite is the rainbow one on the middle right.) I also filled an order for two of these in the rasta color which is quickly becoming the most popular color choice. Now that I have new colors and new photos, heres the new and improved lighter holder listing on Etsy. Which color would you choose?

make something day forty

Today my mom and I helped make valentines for the "glide foundation" which provides food and shelter to the homeless and hungry. I didn't pick the quotes, we just printed their cards, cut them out and decorated the hearts. I sewed the little heart outlines into a few of them with some of my extra yarn, it was pretty easy to do and ended up looking nice.

make something day thirty-nine

Today I made: a pair of fingerless gloves. These ones are wool unlike the acrylic ones I have for sale in my shop and to change things up a little bit I made them longer and attached a cute little bow to the top of each one. They're quality made like my other fingerless gloves but I think the bows make them look more classy and adorable, the wool is nice too and not itchy at all.

make something day thirty-eight

Today I made: a SUPER pink bikini top. I really do feel like I accomplished a lot this past week by more than doubling my inventory of bikini tops. I think I've made enough tops for now so I'm definitely going to think up some new projects tomorrow. After all, it is cloudy, windy and cold so maybe I should get back into the spirit of winter before it's gone again.

how to crochet hearts

Crocheted hearts are easy to make, super quick and they're adorable.
They're a perfect project for beginning crocheters as well as masters of the art.
Once you get the hang of it each one takes approximately five minutes to make,
and you can use them to make jewelry, decorations or to teach your kids how to crochet.

make something day thirty-seven

Today I made: Valentines <3 For each one I just used a little crocheted heart, attached some jewels and tied it to a candy bar. I hope everyone likes heart shaped reese's! In case you don't know how I put up a simple pattern for making crochet hearts right here, each one only takes five minutes and they're easy enough to teach your kids how to make so they can pass out something unique, heart-felt and handmade on Valentines day instead of plain old store bought cards. But they're not just for kids! I'm almost twenty years old and I still had tons of fun making these for my friends.

For the bling just put a regular finding around the top of your heart and then attach some fun beads. I just pulled out some old jewelry and craft boxes and found some random pieces to attach.  I used a variety of beads and ribbons to show you that the possibilities are endless when making these. There's only one week left until Valentines day so if you're still looking for something to pass out, here's a project that's fun and easy, just get some candy, add your own personal flair and wrap 'em up. <3

make something day thirty-six

Today I made: yet another top. I really don't think I'll ever get bored of making these. I've been trying to come up with things that are not bikini top related but instead I just end up making a different style or a different color every day.

In other news, I sent out some Valentines orders today. I think it's sweet when guys buy jewelry for their ladies. Maybe I should get my jewelry box and pliers back out to take a break from my bikini top obsession, hmm?

make something day thirty-five

Today I started making: a summer beach sweater for myself. I'm using the same pattern that I came up with for this top only this time I'll be putting sleeves on it. I've never made a sweater before and I know with this pattern something can hardly even be called a sweater, regardless, I'm both excited and anxious to finish it. I'm a little bummed though because as the body gets longer it's also shrinking! I've never had problems with this pattern until now, and now I'm debating whether to continue on and accept the flaws or unravel half of it to fix the pattern.
Thanks for reading, xo

make something days thirtyone through thirtyfour

I made a different bikini top each day for the past four days, oh and they're all in a different color! And apparently spring is coming soon this year so the timing is perfect. I worked my butt off to get all of these in my shop at the same time and now it's starting to look very bright and colorful. All of the bikini top colors in my shop are interchangeable so as of today I have over 10 colors now available for my customers to choose from.
